Key Biscayne, Miami FL

Drive to Key Biscayne
Key Biscayne is a unique barrier island that lies just across Biscayne
Bay from Coral Gables. An island retreat for beach goers, boaters,
and sightseers, Key Biscayne is a popular island destination. As
we drove over the Rickenbacker Causeway to the island we noticed many
people out enjoying the good weather, biking, walking, and jogging
across the bridge to the island.
Looking back, we could see the
impressive skyline of downtown Miami across the boat-filled blue waters
below. Immediately on the left we could see the small sailboats
moored in the protective cove and the marina full of larger vessels
waiting for their Skippers' seagoing commands. Palm trees lined
the narrow strips of beach on either side of the causeway.
Key Biscayne offers a wide
variety of outdoor recreational activities including bicycling, tennis,
golf, fishing, kite boarding, windsurfing, sailing and waterbikes.
Miami Sunset
Key
Biscayne is a mere 7 miles long and 2 miles wide, and offers some of the
best sunset views in Miami. Looking West from the Marina or
causeway, you can see the wonderful sunset as it highlights the skyline
of downtown with the shimmering water in the foreground. It is a
sight to behold! We enjoyed the sunset view from the Rusty Pelican
restaurant adjacent to the marina. You be the judge of our sunset
view...
