Bayside
Marketplace is a waterfront shopping and dining area near downtown,
Miami Florida. It is a mixture of ritzy shopping, local dining,
and waterfront bars and nightlife. Bayside offers fun for all.
Come and enjoy the daily live entertainment offered in the outdoor
pavilion area at Bayside. Or just come out and enjoy the bustling
atmosphere and the colorful neon lights.
This waterfront shopping mall is a
magnet for Latin American shoppers, tourists and cruise-ship goers. It's
modeled after a village marketplace with lots of kiosks, open-air
walkways and vendors offering everything from sarongs to jewelry to
fresh foods.
 Bayside Marketplace is easy to get to, located right on Miami's
waterfront off of Biscayne Blvd with the American Airlines Arena on one
side and Bay Front Park on the other side (view
map). Parking is convenient with a
parking garage adjacent.
 Once you meander through the entry
promenade and initial stores, you make your way out to the waterfront.
Here, you must pause to enjoy the scene. Often there are live
concerts right here on the water - as there was the night we visited.
There were large crowds of merry people watching, eating, dancing, and
shopping in this carnival-like atmosphere. Large tour boats and
smaller pleasure craft pulled up to the pier here as the sun set behind
us.
We stopped for dinner at the Latin American Cafe.
This restaurant serves traditional Cuban favorites including Media Noche
and Cuban sandwiches as well as Picadillo, Vaca Frita, and Arroz con
Pollo. We sat outside, facing the water and enjoyed a wonderful
Cuban meal. We highly recommend the large sampler appetizer
platter - a delicious delight! There was also a Mambo Cafe located here -- a chain of
the same restaurant we ate at in Coconut
Grove. At the outer edge of Bayside,
located right on the water's edge, is the Hard Rock Cafe Miami with
spectacular views of the waterfront and small boat harbor.
 Don't
think of Bayside as merely a shopping mall - you'll be pleasantly
surprised by the carnival-like atmosphere on the very scenic waterfront. Whether you are interested in our vibrant marketplace,
exotic restaurants, daily live entertainment or national brand name
stores. Miami Bayside's wealth of activity offers something for everyone.
